Steps to Make a Paper Apple Basket Craft for Kids
Making a paper apple basket is so easy with our printable template! Kids will have so much fun carrying around their own little basket filled with cute paper apples.
Step 1
Download the 3d apple basket craft printable template by signing up through the form below. Print Pages 1 and 2 on colored cardstock. Print two copies of Page 3 on white construction papers or thin cardstocks to make six apples in total.

Step 2
Cut out all the template pieces. The colored cardstock pieces will form the basket, while the white paper pieces are for the apples. You can color the apples and the stem and leaf for each one, or use the apple shapes as templates to trace and cut apples from different colored paper. Get creative with different apple colors to make your basket extra cheerful!

Step 3
Take the longer paper strip and fold both ends along the dashed lines to create two small tabs.

Step 4
Glue the tabs behind the basket shape, one on each side near the top.

Step 5
Now, gently fold the three small strips at the bottom of the basket upward.

Step 6
Apply glue to the top of each folded strip. Then, stick them one by one behind the horizontal strip you attached earlier.

Step 7
Once all the vertical strips are attached to the horizontal strip, your basket will start to come together and take on a lovely 3D shape.

Step 8
Take the two remaining paper strips and join them together with a stapler to make one longer strip. This will be used as the basket handle.

Step 9
Glue the two ends of the strip onto the basket, positioning them just behind the horizontal strip at the top. Your paper basket is ready! Now, let’s make the apples.

Step 10
Take the apple shapes and glue a pair of eyes onto each one. Then, add a stem and a leaf to the top of each apple.

Step 11
Now comes the fun part! Let the kids draw different expressions on the apples, such as happy, sad, or surprised faces. This is a fun way to give each little apple its own personality!

The apples for the apple basket craft are ready! Place them in the basket, and let the kids carry their little basket around by the handle.
