The Christmas season is about to begin! We are here with a simple beaded pipe cleaner Christmas tree card craft for kids. Kids will love to make this Christmas tree card and decorate it with beautiful crystal stickers, sequins, pom poms, or even their fingerprints if they want.
To make this Christmas tree card, we need pipe cleaners and a few beads. Threading beads on a pipe cleaner is a great fine motor activity for little ones. If you don’t want to use beads, you can use small cut pieces of a paper straw.
This handmade Christmas card is great to do with kids of all ages, especially preschoolers, kindergarteners, and school-age kids.

How to make a Christmas tree card with beads and pipecleaner
Step 1
Get two pipe cleaners in your favorite color and a few beads. We used green sparkly pipe cleaners and transparent beads.
Make a tiny fold at one end of one of the pipe cleaners, so the beads won’t fall off. Now thread a bead through the other end.

Step 2
Bend the pipe cleaner to make a small U (or V) shape near this bead and thread the second bead.
Now, make a little bigger U (or V) shape to the other side and thread the third bead through the pipe cleaner.
Then make an even bigger U shape to the opposite side and thread the next bead and so on. The U shapes will come in a zig-zag way.
Continue this until you run out of the pipe cleaner.

Step 3
Connect the second pipe cleaner to the first one by wrapping and twisting it around the first one a few times. Younger kids may need help from grown-ups with this step.

Step 4
Make two to three more U shapes to the alternate sides and thread the beads as we did in step 2.
When you have around 5 to 6 U shapes going to the alternate sides, cut off the rest of the pipe cleaner and make a tiny fold at the end to prevent the last bead from falling off.

Step 5
Let’s stick the pipe cleaner Christmas tree to a card now. Get an A4 cardstock. Fold it in half widthwise.
Using hot glue, stick the top of the Christmas tree to the front of the card. Then stick the rest of the Christmas tree also below it. Please note, hot gluing has to be done by adults only.
Now, kids can decorate the Christmas tree by sticking a star cut out of glitter paper and crystal stickers. If you don’t have glitter paper, you can use normal construction paper. You could also get the kids to draw a star and use their fingerprints to decorate the tree.
