How to Make a Paper Pencil Name Craft for Kids
Making this paper pencil craft is so simple, and kids will have so much fun choosing their favourite colours to create their own personalised pencil.
Step 1
To make this paper pencil craft, download the pencil craft template. The printable template is available for purchase in our shop. Print the pencil body (page 1) on thin coloured cardstock and the remaining pencil pieces (page 2) on thin white cardstock.

Step 2
Kids can now colour the rectangles between the dotted lines. These will become the pencil base. Then, colour the top triangles, which will become the pencil tip.
Next, write the child’s name on the larger rectangle, which will become the pencil eraser. This is what makes each paper pencil craft unique and extra special.
Cut out all the parts.

Step 3
Next, take the larger triangle with the rectangular tab at the base. Apply glue to the rectangular tab.

Step 4
Now stick it behind the top of the pencil body.

Step 5
Now, glue the small black triangle to the very top of the pencil to complete the tip.

Step 6
Next, take the eraser piece with the child’s name on it. Fold the two small tabs at each end backwards and apply glue to the inside of each folded tab. Then, attach the eraser to the base of the pencil.

Step 7
After that, complete the base of the pencil by attaching the metal band. Take the other rectangular piece and fold the two small tabs backwards. Apply glue to the inside of the folded tabs, then stick the metal band just above the eraser so the two pieces sit neatly together.

Step 8
Now, stick the two eyes onto the pencil.

Step 9
Finally, draw a smile on the pencil. Your cute paper pencil craft is now complete! How easy was that? The raised pencil base gives it a fun, playful 3D look.
