This is a fun Halloween craft idea to do with toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and school-age kids. My 5-year-old loved making this paper witch craft, especially rolling several paper strips to make the curly hair.

Tutorial- How to make a Witch craft
Step 1
Download the witch craft template and print it out. There are 4 pages on the template. Print out the first three pages on white A4 cardstock. The fourth page is the witch’s hair template. You can print it out on A4 colored construction paper.

Step 2
Let’s start painting the template. We used watercolor to paint ours. You can also use acrylic paint, crayons, color pencils etc.
First, paint the witch’s face. We used 2 coats of watercolor for our template. Keep it aside.
Now, let’s paint the witch’s dress and then the template with the witch’s hat, broom, and hands. Wait for the paint to dry. (If you are using watercolor, you may have to wait a bit longer).

Step 3
Cut out two eyes and stick them on the witch’s face. Draw a nose and mouth with a black marker.
Now, cut out the witch’s hair. You will get six paper strips.

Step 4
Now, we are going to make some curly hair for our witch. Take a paper strip and start wrapping it around a pencil.

Step 5
Once you reach the end of the paper strip, take it out of the pencil. You have got a paper roll. Hold the outer end of the paper roll and you will see the other part bouncing!
Make more paper rolls and stick all of them on both sides of the witch’s face. You will have three rolls on each side. While sticking, make sure you apply glue only at the outer end of the paper roll and leave the other part unglued, so it will remain bouncy.

Step 6
Let’s give her a hat now. Cut out the hat pieces. Lay the big rectangle horizontally and stick the big triangle shape in the middle of that. Now, stick the smaller rectangle overlapping both of them. We have assembled the hat pieces together.
Stick the hat above the witch’s face.

Step 7
Cut out and stick the witch’s dress under the face.
Now, cut out the hands and the broom. Make small cuts on the broom with scissors and glue the small curvy side of the broom to the broomstick.

Step 8
Take one hand and make a small fold inwards. Apply some glue on that fold and stick it on the witch’s dress. Do the same with the other hand and finally stick the witch’s broom between the two hands.

Our gorgeous witch is ready with a broom in her hands!

We made one more paper witch craft. We glued the hands a bit differently for this one.
