We have a free printable template you can cut out and simply put together to make this chick craft. This is perfect to do with toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and elementary school kids. The best part is, it only requires the basic craft supplies to make.
Open the card, write your Easter message inside and send it to grandma and grandpa! My daughter loved getting her hands traced and was so excited when she saw the baby chick craft opening up as a card!

How to make a handprint Easter chick card
Step 1
First, download and print the chick craft template on yellow A4 cardstock. You can get access to our printable library by signing up for our newsletters below.
After you sign up, you will get an email to confirm your subscription and once you confirm, you will get another email with a link and password to access our printable library. Open the printable library and you will be able to find our baby chick craft printable under the section “Spring”.

Step 2
After printing the template, cut out the parts- the 8 shaped part which is the card, the legs, the beak, and the tiny top feather. Trace the beak template on a small piece of red cardstock and legs on a piece of brown cardstock and cut them out.
Fold the card in half. Time to make the chick now!
Fold the small red beak in half. Now apply a drop of glue outside of its one side. Stick it behind the top leaf of the card with the pointed corners coming outside. Make sure you apply glue only on one side of the beak. Otherwise, it may get stuck on both sides of the card and you won’t be able to open the card.
Now stick both the legs behind the bottom of the top leaf. Stick a googly eye for the eye.

Trace and cut your little ones’ handprint on another yellow cardstock and stick it on the top. Stick the small feather on the top of the head.

Now open your card and write your special message!

Isn’t it cute?
