Step 2
Cut out the parts of the template starting with the shell. Trace it on a colored cardstock using a pencil and cut it out. We used a light green cardstock for the shell.
Kids can also color it using markers or crayons if they don’t want to trace it.
Then, take a piece of foam paper and cut several hexagons and octagons to adorn the shell. Stick them on the turtle’s shell.
Now for the fun part! Let the kids trace their hand on colored construction paper using a pencil and cut it out. We used orange color paper. Make sure to leave a bit of space between the thumb and the other fingers.
Stick the handprint under the shell with the thumb making the turtle’s tail. Your little one will be surprised and delighted to see their craft take shape!

Step 3
Trace the turtle’s head on another piece of orange construction paper and cut it out.

Step 4
Stick the head at the front below the shell. Cut out an eye for our turtle and draw the feet and mouth using a black marker.
