Have fun with our beautiful Letter b Butterfly craft as part of your letter of the week craft activities. We have a gorgeous sponge-painted butterfly craft your kids will love to do while learning the uppercase and lowercase B.
Letter recognition is one of the first skills kids develop before they start reading. Teaching the alphabet with a craft activity makes learning both enjoyable and easy for them. You can make it even more fun by singing an alphabet song or by going on an alphabet scavenger hunt!

Print the letter b Butterfly craft template on A4 white cardstock.
The printable has three pages in total. One page with a big butterfly for uppercase B, another page with a small butterfly for lowercase b, and a third page with the letters and other parts of the butterfly.
Get a clean dry sponge and squirt some paint onto it. Spread the paint on the sponge by folding and unfolding the sponge once.
Or you can take some paint in a paper plate and dip the sponge in it.

Step 2
Press the sponge onto the butterfly template. We went with the big butterfly first.
Once you are happy with the colored prints on your butterfly, get another color paint on the sponge and make more prints. We used yellow and blue for the big butterfly.

Step 3
Wash and dry the sponge. Now, paint the other butterfly template the same way.
Once both the templates are sponge painted, let them dry.

Step 4
In the meantime, paint the uppercase B and lowercase b on the third page with a paintbrush. Kids can also choose to fingerpaint the letters. Once the paint dries, cut out all the parts.
Also, cut out the sponge painted butterflies after the paint dries.
Stick the eyes and antennae on to the letters B and b. Draw a mouth with a marker.

Step 5
Stick the big butterfly on an A4 colored cardstock.
Get the rectangle shaped piece of paper you got from the template. Make it into a small roll by sticking the ends together with a glue stick.
Stick this paper roll onto the middle of the butterfly. Stick the uppercase B over this paper roll to get a 3D look.

Similarly, for the lowercase letter b craft, stick the small butterfly template onto another colored cardstock. Stick a paper roll onto it and glue the lowercase b on the top of this paper roll.

Hope you like our b is for butterfly craft. Isn’t it super cute?
