Steps to make an Ocean in a Bottle Craft with Paper
Create this paper ocean craft in just a few simple steps with our printable template.
Step 1
Purchase the Ocean in a bottle paper craft template from our shop. The template is available in both A4 and US Letter sizes. After purchasing, download the size that best suits your needs. Print the bottle page on white cardstock and the remaining two template pages on two sheets of white construction paper.
Next, color the template. We used colored pencils, but crayons work just as well. Kids can have fun coloring the sea animals, seashells, and sea plants in their favorite colors. They can also decorate the bottle and waves with colorful patterns using markers if they like. Once everything is colored, cut out all the shapes.

Step 2
Let’s stick the ocean wave shapes inside the bottle. Start with the first wavy shape and stick it along the dotted lines in the bottle. Apply glue only to the two outer edges so you can insert the sea animals into the waves later.

Step 3
Next, take the second wavy shape and stick it below the first one, slightly overlapping the bottom edge of the first wave. Again, apply glue only to the two outer edges, making sure it aligns with the bottle shape.

Step 4
Finally, take the bottom layer and stick it along the bottom of the bottle. This time, apply glue to the two sides and the bottom edge only.

Step 5
Now stick the lid to the top of the bottle.

Step 6
Now comes the most fun part! Let’s place the sea animals into the wavy layers one by one. Tuck some of them into the waves and stick the others onto the waves to create your own underwater scene.
