How many popsicle sticks do you need to make a house?
For our popsicle stick house, we used approximately 250 popsicle sticks and a lot of hot glue. You can get a rough idea of the number of popsicle sticks you need from the plan you draw.
I strongly recommend the use of wood glue instead of hot glue if small kids are trying this.
How long does it take to make a popsicle house?
The time can vary depending on the size and details of your house. A simple popsicle stick house can take about 1 to 2 hours.
For a house like this, with windows, stairs, fences, and decorations, it may take around 3 to 5 hours or more. You can also make it over a couple of days, which makes the process more relaxed and enjoyable.
If you are doing it as a project with kids, try breaking it into small sessions. This keeps it fun and stress free, and gives each part enough time to set nicely.
If you are looking for an easier popsicle stick house for younger kids, you can try our simple popsicle stick house on paper craft. This version does not use hot glue. It takes less than an hour to make and is perfect for younger kids.

Let’s see how we made the different parts of this popsicle stick house. Let’s start with the wall!
How to make a wall
We stacked the popsicle sticks horizontally, placing them side by side to form the wall. Then we added two popsicle sticks vertically at the back to hold everything together and glued them in place.
You can easily adjust the size by adding more popsicle sticks to make the wall taller, depending on your popsicle stick house design.
How to make a window
We made a simple window by cutting 4 popsicle sticks using scissors and gluing them together to form a square shape.
Then we glued a piece of net fabric behind the window to make a curtain. This gives the window a nice finished look and adds a soft decorative touch to the house.
How to make the front entrance for this popsicle house?
The pics below will give you an idea.
After following the steps shown in the above pic, we stacked a few popsicle sticks and glued them together. Then we cut them into a triangle form which was then attached to the front entrance using hot glue.
Assembling the parts to make a mini popsicle stick house
We made a popsicle stick platform to which we assembled all the walls and roofs.
Then we added a fence and stairs.
Finally, we decorated the house with some flowers.

At the moment, we don’t have an option to print the instructions on their own. As an alternative, you can take screenshots of the instruction steps and print those.
On Windows, you can take a screenshot and then press Ctrl + P to access the print option.
On a Mac, you can take a screenshot and press Command + P to access the print option.
