How to make a paper plate garden and moving bee spring craft for kids
Making this craft is very easy. You may either watch the video or follow the below instructions.
Step 1
Paint your paper plate brown. Download and print the flower templates. You can either use the colored template or the non-colored one. With the non-colored one, kids can color the flowers by themselves with their favourite colors.
Cut out all the flowers with a scissors.

Step 2
Cut strips of green construction paper for the stem. You can also use green cardstock. Now, stick these green strips behind each flower. You can also stick some small green strips at the middle of the stem to form tiny branches.

Step 3
Have an adult make a slit on the inside of the paper plate using a craft knife. Now, we are going to stick the flowers on either side of this slit.
Pick a flower and bend the stem backwards at the middle to crease it and form an ‘L’ shape. Now, stick the lower part of this ‘L’ shape on the paper plate. Stick all the flowers on the paper plate the same way.
(Please note, if you are using construction paper for the stem, the lower part of the ‘L’ shape should have equal length or more length than the top part in order to hold the flower straight.)
Similarly, you can also make some L shapes out of green strips and stick them on the paper plate to form grass.

Step 4
The paper plate garden is ready. Time to make the bumble bee! Cut shapes out of yellow cardstock to form the bee’s body and head. Draw black lines on the bee’s body and stick the head at its tip. Stick two antennae made of black paper on the head and a wing made of white paper on the body. Stick the bumble bee on a thin chopstick/popsicle stick or a thin paper straw using hot glue.

Your beautiful paper plate garden with moving bumble bee craft is finished! To play with it, insert your chopstick through the paper plate’s slit. Hold the lower end of the chopstick with one hand beneath the paper plate while holding the paper plate with the other hand. Move the chopstick around and watch your bee flying from one flower to the next and to the sky!
