How to Make a Torn Paper Apple Craft with Peeking Worm
Making this torn paper apple craft is so easy. Instead of cutting, kids simply tear small pieces of construction paper and stick them onto the template. Kids can also try other papers, such as tissue paper, crepe paper, or magazine pages, to create different textures and effects.
Step 1
First, download the Torn Paper Apple Craft template. Simply enter your details in the form within the instructions below to access the template and join our newsletter.
Print page 1 of the template on coloured cardstock and page 2 on white construction paper.
Colour the leaf, stem, and the hole made by the worm using markers. Then cut out all the template pieces. Trace the worm head and paper strips onto coloured construction paper, then cut them out.

Step 2
Kids can now tear the coloured construction paper into small pieces. Apply glue to the apple, then stick the torn paper pieces onto the template until the apple is completely covered.

Step 3
Now, glue the stem to the top of the apple.

Step 4
Glue the leaf next to the stem.

Step 5
The apple is now complete, so it’s time to make the worm!
Create the worm’s accordion body by gluing the end of one paper strip to the end of another at a right angle. Fold the strips over one another, alternating each strip until you reach the ends. Glue the ends together to secure the accordion.
If you would like a longer worm, simply glue another paper strip to the end of each strip and continue folding.

Step 6
Set the accordion-folded body aside. Glue the eyes onto the worm’s head. Add eyelashes and draw a smile using a marker. If you like, you can make the worm even cuter by giving it a winking eye.

Step 7
Glue the worm’s neck to the side of the apple, leaving the top of the head unglued. Gently bend the head upwards for a more playful look.

Step 8
Take the accordion-folded body and glue the black hole piece to one end of it.

Step 9
Next, glue the other end of the accordion-folded body to the worm’s neck.

Step 10
Next, bend the accordion-folded body down towards the apple. Apply glue to the back of the black worm hole piece and stick it onto the apple.

Your torn paper apple craft with a cute peeking worm is now complete! Wasn’t that so much fun? Kids will be proud to display their colourful artwork at home or in the classroom.
