We have rolled several paper strips to decorate the wings of these butterflies which is a fun fine motor activity for kids. Like many of our other crafts, you just need only a few common supplies to make this paper butterfly craft.

Supplies you need

  1. A4 Construction Paper (We chose yellow, pink and blue colors for the butterfly in the pic)
  2. PVA glue
  3. Cardstock
  4. Scissors
  5. Black marker

Steps to make this paper butterfly craft

Follow the step by step instructions below to learn how to make this cute 3d butterfly. This is a great art activity for preschoolers, kindergarteners and elementary school kids.

Step 1

First, we need some construction papers. We chose three A4 papers of yellow, pink, and blue colors. If you need only two colors for your butterfly, you will need only two pieces of paper. Now, cut several paper strips out of them as shown below.

Here are the measurements we used. The longer yellow strips are 21 x 1.5 cm and the shorter yellow strips are 19 x 1.5 cm. These paper strips will make the wings of the butterfly. The smaller pink and blue paper strips are 10 x 1.5 cms. We will roll them to decorate the wings in later steps.
