Steps to make a handprint flower card
Follow the steps below to make a simple and adorable handprint flower card using our printable template. This easy craft lets kids turn their handprints into a sweet handmade card that is perfect for Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day.
Step 1
First, download the handprint flower card template. Simply enter your details in the form below to access the template and join our newsletter. Once downloaded, print the template on white cardstock.

Step 2
Next, color the leaves on the template using green markers or crayons.

Step 3
Next, cut the cardstock halfway so the card section and the leaves section are in two separate pieces. This will give you one piece for the card and another piece with the leaves. Now take the card section and fold the paper along the dashed line to make the card.

Step 4
Next, cut out the card along the black line while keeping the paper folded. This will create the card shape where we will stick the handprints.

Step 5
Next, cut out the leaves carefully along the lines from the other cardstock piece.

Step 6
Next, take two colored cardstocks and trace your child’s handprint on them using a pencil. We used two different colors for a fun look, but you can use the same color for both if you prefer.
Next, stick the first handprint on top of the card shape, positioning it so it will form one of the flower’s petals.

Step 7
Next, stick the second handprint on top of the first one, covering the rest of the card as much as possible.

Step 8
Next, stick the leaves at the bottom of the handprint flowers, placing them close together so the edges touch. You may not need all the leaves depending on the size of the handprints.

Step 9
Next, open the card and write a message inside. Kids can share a sweet note for mom or a loved one.

Step 10
Now decorate the handprint flower card with buttons or googly eyes. Kids can get creative and also use rhinestones, stickers, or other fun decorations.

Look how pretty our handprint flower card craft turned out! It’s colorful, fun, and full of love!
